3 Best Coupon Sites For Savings

With the rage about coupon clipping, I have to admit my wife and I have been doing this in a not so extreme fashion for years. I have found several sites and blogs to be rather useful when it comes to saving a few dollars on groceries with coupons.

I have to admit that I am not of the same vain that buys in bulk as you see on many of the shows, I understand the purpose and motive of it but for me it just is not very practical. The items that expire , I simply can't use in a timeframe that makes buying them any sense. The fact is I buy them, feel great that I’ve saved money and feel terrible months later when they are expired long past their due dates and I have to toss them. Since the major grocery chain down this way is Publix, we focus on that first. There is a great site out that that is devoted to Publix that I love, iheartpublix.com. They are focused on the BOGO ( buy one get one free) items in Publix in combination with manufactures coupons. We utilize this site along with the other sites I'm going to mention here to really make a game plan for shopping. We also use the Publix site itself to make the lists up themselves which organize your shopping trip by aisle. I particularly like this feature as it saves time.

Here are the sites I like with pro's and con's from my perspective.

Coupons.com

I like this site in general, at first it seemed to good to be true in the sure number of offers it has. It has a ton of offers and it's a bookmark of mine now.

Likes:

  • Lots of coupon offers and it's easy to use. I trend to the grocery coupon website as that’s the most useful for me.
  • I like the simply way and program to print the coupons. That’s just me.
  • Huge number of offers.

Dislikes:

  • The huge number of offers make it hard for me to go through them all and plan my trip. I view this as a positive/negative in that it's nice to have this problem.
  • I hate the in frame browser, this means that it takes you to the couponing sites within the coupons.com site. it's annoying to me. I sometimes like to navigate back to the sites I went to and this feature makes that much harder.

Couponmom.com

This is a great site to learn actually, they have video's that are like classes on how to coupon. I liked that a lots and it was helpful starting out.

Likes:

  • The video's are great, nice way to learn quick.
  • Savings calculator, this thing is amazing, tells you how much you save, this makes me feel good about my effort.
  • Site is free, I use a general Google mail address for all my coupon sites and it works for me. This seems to be on of the sites that I do not get a TON of mail from. Not sure if that would be true for you or not.
  • There is a Bing like searchable coupon warehouse that tells you about sales etc. I personally need to figure out how to use this better.

Dislikes:

  • Not many so far
  • Less offers that other coupon sites it appears, but that is merely by subjective opinion. I need to use it longer to re-access

Coolsavings.com

This site has been around a while and I find it pretty useful. I've used it for the longest time therefore I have the strongest opinions on it.

Likes:

  • I like the way they break the site into categories, it makes things easier to find.
  • If your into getting free things like used to come in the mail then this is for you, you can search for them. I have to admit I go this from time to time. Seems like a reward , treasure hunt for me. Silly but true.

Dislikes:

  • Pop ups, maybe it's my settings but the pop-ups seem to occur more often than other sites. I hate having to close them, worried they will take me to places I do not want to go.

Summary:

There are a TON of site out there for savings, The problem I see is the time you have to spend to gather a gameplan and actually do the coupon gathering and printing. I'm searching for some thing that I can automate this all with and I'll update this page if I find something to my liking.

Good sites to use, but I have to say coupondivas.com is my absolutely favorite! They have matchups for a ton of different stores all over the country including Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is great because they don't generally do sales which means you don't have to rush in during a specific week.
