HTC Ozone Smart Phone Review

By

The family picked up a bunch of new phone recently from Verizon Wireless and my new toy is the HTC Ozone Phone.  This is a pretty neat phone.  I did not want a Blackberry, despite the urge for me to get one. I in the end just had to be different.  I decided on a smart phone and this is brand new.  I've had is for a bit and I'll give you my cut.

Things I like.

  • I bought the soft silicone rubber cover and that helps protect it.
  • It's smaller and I think lighter than the Blackberry
  • Does not require the BES blackberry service to integrate with Business and personel mail
  • I have mine setup with my own email provider and it works great.
  • Has a real QWERTY keyboard, I like this, I tend not to like the touch keyboards as i'm old school and still like to feel the keys get depressed.
  • Battery life is OK for a Smartphone over a day I get.. I know other with other smartphones that endup sticking a charger their desks.
  • Can be "tethered" which means you can plug it into your laptop in a remote location and use it to get Internet on your computer.

Things I do not like:

  • Keyboard is a bit small
  • The USB like port is not true mini USB and therfore you need a special cord.
  • No headset jack on the phone itself you have to plug a adapter in the USB like jack to do that.
  • NOt a bug deal as it's Bluetooth enabled so I can use a bluetooth headset for the same purpose.

I'll try to update the review as time goes on but right now I'm pretty pleased, it fits in my pocket and serves me well, I like it.

Some more facts on the phone itself:

2.0 Megapixel Camera & Camcorder microSD™ Removable Memory (Supports up to 16GB) Bluetooth®* Stereo Support High Resolution, Full Color Display Screen Visual Voice Mail TTY Compatible Hearing Aid Compatibility = M3/T3

Nice review. I too have an Ozone, and review phones. Its a fantastic device. Our HTC rep came in recently and showed me even more things I didn't know it did!

I'm not a major cell phone user, however it is beneficial for as it can be used in both CDMA and GSM. The keyboard works absolutely well, the predictive text input feature takes a “best guess” of the text you’re typing which makes the texting experience faster and more fun! I would heartily recommend this.

Great description. Gradual Hearing Loss is an isolating experience as quite a few of people lose more of their ability to hear clearly everyday. Thanks for shedding some light on this problem.
